If you've been wondering, it was time to pay the rent for the blog, but I wanted to change who was keeping track of it. And there were details that kept not working out. Now it's all renewed for another year, and back up.

Tomorrow I go to Portland, and Saturday to Tampa. See some of you soon!

And just a few photos that I wanted to share. It was a very cold but dry morning and some neat fog and ice crystals were all around.

And I just liked these in general.

"Logan, what are you looking at?"

"Wombat dung."

And I wonder why I ask sometimes.

At least it wasnt: "Logan, what are you eating?"

:)

Oh. Good point. Although I might have doubted that more, since Wombat Dung would be hard to find in our yard. :-)

John reports that the 3rd newest baby goat, and the newest mama goat have both licked his face thoroughly tonight. Mama goat had triplets, one doe and two bucks. Doe picture below, once I find the camera.

All of Peach's kids, doing well

Peach's doe kid, before her brothers were born.

A second sheep lambed, so now we have Gamma's ewe lamb, and Ezri's uncatchable lamb, which outran John even though it was not yet even fully dry yet.

Ezri with her ram lamb (umblical cord not yet dry)

Does this mean it's Spring?
[Sat 08:47] John ~ site
Nope, peas are not even in the ground yet. It just means that we planned properly and that we will have a milk supply by spring - It does mean we are past the deep dark cold of mid-winter.

A lot of plants are still dormant - we are moving a bunch of plants to a new bed today and putting some bare root raspberries (Logan's) in the ground today. I need to get my grape vines in the ground too - Big day!

So here are the pictures of our goat babies so far this year:

One of Curry's kids

Both of Curry's kids

And there's a lamb born who is fleet footed and shy, and I'll try to get a picture of her later today, if the sheep are cooperative. I thought John had taken one already. :-)

Yes, I'm still sick. I'm in the running for longest cold in history I think! John says my cough (and Logan's) sounds like bronchitis to him. Thursday I talked to my doctor's office about a prescription I'd had from the local open-on-Sunday clinic, that was helping keep me from being completely miserable with congestion. They said yes, they'd ok a refill, no problem. So Friday I got the pharmacy to request one. No go. The twit I got on the phone at the doctors office said I'd better allow extra time since my pharmacy was evidently slow about asking for refills. Strangely enough, John, in the pharmacy to pick up the prescription along with Logan's puffer, could see it ready to go waiting for the OK from the doctor's office. Doctor's office seems to be staffed with screw-ups. I miss my Midwife!

Settling in to the house continues, slowly. I've managed to be sick pretty much since we officially moved in. No, I don't think there's a connection, except I'd be even more miserable if I were sick and living in the cabin, with it's lesser insulation and space.

Logan, has been sick, alternating with way full of energy. Of course. Plus her asthma puffer, which may or may not be making a difference, adds to her, ahem, spirited behavior.

We have begun kidding and lambing season. We have a pretty little ewe lamb on the ground, who was so full of energy that John couldn't catch her the first day he saw her. And a buck kid, who is cute at the moment, but since last years buck kids are still around being nuisances, doesn't impress me so much.

They aren't mine. But go look. It's three separate links so that you can actually see them even if they aren't in that current blog anymore. And if you click on the pic itself, it will change to a larger version.

One Tree

Long Grass On Hillside

I'll post something soon. I didn't mean to vanish while I was sick.
