But Ruzz's server being down isn't my only exscuse for disappearing for a month, again. It's summer. I always disappear in the summer. A big part of me hates summer - the heat, the bugs, daylight keeping me awake at night and waking me up again in the morning, me getting sun burned even when I'm trying to stay cool on an overcast day. I've got too many of the fair skinned genes in my system - Grandpa Alfred would be proud, I'm sure it's my English, Irish, Scottish, Celtic etc ancestry making me want to live somewhere cool and grey most of the time. This part of Oregon, despite the theories of some of you in Florida, is still warm and bright for a good chunk of the year. Not what I'd choose, but it's a good place in other respects.
We survived the coffee gathering, and had a lot of fun with it. Then, the day after the last folks left, I lost my voice for most of a week. And a day after I could talk again, Logan came down with a fever that stayed high for five days. Following that both of us had a kick up of our asthma again. Now life is slowly getting back to normal. Or, as normal as it gets around here.
Today, Thursday, Logan and I go to find out of the Subaru is having break problems, or power steering problems, or some other thing causing a similar whistling noise to come from the front outside of the car. Then we go meet the assortment of Vowel starting mom's and babies (Logan and I are the only ones in today's gathering whose names don't start with the letter A or E. What an interesting group of friends I've got here!).
Yes, the house is changing slowly. Insulation is in. Drywall is going in. I don't think it will be done by the end of this month, but it will at least look like it could be done in the near future.
What do you think?
