We've had more snow and cold weather this winter than any other since we moved here, which isn't really all that long, but is a nice change. It's been chilly! And we need to split and stack more wood, if we get some dry days to go out and work in.

John went out yesterday and took some ice pictures. And I've still got some beautiful snow pictures from December that I keep meaning to post and not getting time to work on. I don't have much time today. Logan is full of vigor from having been mostly indoors during the freezing rain. Today we'll get out and do some laundry and try to use up a little of her overabundance of energy.

Our rain gauge. Burr!

To have any color prejudice is to discriminate against God, who is sitting in the hearts of all the red, white, yellow, olive, and black peoples of the world. -- Paramahansa Yogananda

Dressed to go out in the cold. And she went that way too. Same day as the other pic.

Okay, it's been more than a week since I wrote those first couple paragraphs. And what a week. We've all had a cold, as have Andrea and Aidan. We had a 12th night celebration, on the weekend, a little late, but fun nonetheless. We sadly went to WomonCare's farewell party the day before. And then this past weekend also to the sale of items from the WomonCare office. I came home from that with a microwave to take to Robyn, and a goose neck lamp that should do will in its new life as a knitting lamp. It used to be one that Katherine pointed at the exam table as she was inspecting, stitching, etc.

The quote above is one I found while reading up about an email that's *still* going around objecting to a postage stamp honoring the end of the Muslim winter religious holiday of Ramadan. The email was pretty well garbage, but it was interesting finding out that people were objecting to it. I could object on the separation of church and state basis, but that's about it. And since I haven't managed to send my holiday cards yet this year, I may well send them with the stamp in question, if my postmistress can get it.

I've been hearing complaints from Mom and Cheryl that I haven't posted, so I'll get this put up, and try to get back to once a week at least. There are workmen here rebuilding our laundry room today, Logan's napping for now, I'm going to quit typing and go knit while I can. Happy January all.
