Adding this for John's mom who says she doesn't see any links to anything Logan might like for a holiday gift, only a list of things she "can't" have.
Here is the link for
Hanna Andersson's Web Page. If you click on the underlined words, it will take you to that page.
In fact, here is a link for the Hannah
Long Johns that Logan sleeps in, when she chooses not to sleep naked, or in day clothes, or some other combination of things. Last night it was a wool sweater and shirt. The night before it was her one set of stripey H. A. long johns. It changes with her mood I think. The stuff on sale seems to be mostly sold out in Logan's size, which is 90.
I also posted this down in comments on whatever the appropriate day was, but the html for the links didn't show links, just code. My computer is having a bad morning however, so this is try three or four to get this posted. Then I'll shut the whole thing down for a nice rest.
And added for Andrea here is the
Garden Kids link. Junebug isn't on the web, unfortionately for us. I'll provide their phone number to anyone who asks though. They are my favorate makers of Logan clothes, I think. Garden Kids may be a close second though.

Not much snow, and it's mixed with rain, but enough that we could see it on Sunny-dog's back. And Logan got to see some. She still wants to go see more, but we're trying to plan a trip to find snow for the end of this month.
And, although this isn't much of a post, I do have a Logan picture, two actually, to add for the sake of Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa.
Buttons in the back.
Oseralls, just like Baby's. If we have snow on the ground by morning I'll take a picture to post for all you Florida Folks.

We went to Eugene's Holiday Market today. Whee, what fun. We saw Andrea, Bob and Aidan, and got to do things as a sixsome part of the time, which worked especially well when Andrea and I stopped to look at things and didn't have to wonder who was keeping an eye on the short people. Last week I went with Joana, which also worked similarly well. Ah the luxury of other people keeping track of my kid.
One of the vendors at Holiday market makes clothes that many of you have seen Logan in. Things with machine embroidered designs, and in multi colored cotton and hemp fabric. Last week we went planning to get Logan a new pair of "footy pants" from him, but alas, he only normally makes them up to size 2. But he offered to make a 3T set for Logan, in multi colors, which is different from the others he makes (footy pants are normally all one color.) This week we picked them up. He said he'd had many inquiries about them, and his own kids wanted sets, so he may start making them in larger sizes regularly. The feet are out of the same fabric as the rest of the pants, with no traction stuff on the bottoms, so Logan can wear them in shoes, or on their own. She loves them. I don't think they have a web page up, but they do business under the name
Junebug, and perhaps I can come up with a phone number or an email address for them if any one wants to track them down. We have yet to wear out anything from them. Some things have been outgrown, but not out worn. I love the holiday market new clothing time of year! I always set out to shop for gifts, and come home with clothes for Logan. I need to take a picture of her in the new clothes still. Next post maybe.
John took some pictures of the night sky tonight. One of the many things he and I love about being here in Oregon. He likes the first one below better, I like the second.
cloudy cloudy moon
Clearer now. And in case anyone has missed pictures of me in the blog, here's one Logan took this evening, with help from John. My outfit for the day included a jumper over all the black, but it was too fussy to keep on at home, so I'm cold instead.
kid's eye view Last of all, I'll leave you with my attempts at knitting last night. If you look closely you can see the knitting in progress, on the needles, under the soundly sleeping kitten. I had to change to another project.
But it looked like a fine place to nap! Logan and I are both on asthma medicines now, and breathing and sleeping better than before. Evidently what we have is a mild variety, triggered by a cold, or in my case by exercise or some dusty things (hay comes to mind first of all). It's a little odd to be taking so many medicines, between keeping track of mine and hers, but it's making life much nicer for both of us. We may yet haul John in to be checked for allergies or asthma, but he hasn't had a cough that he can't get rid of yet, this winter.
We haven't managed to send out any holiday cards yet. Another week maybe. Or I'll just send them all Jan 1, 2004. Don't hold your breath waiting, but I still think you'll hear from us eventually.

I'm joining a couple of other moms I know in saying I don't want this plastic disposable garbage in my house. If you'd like to send Logan a gift this year (if you're not closely related to her you can ignore this post folks! I'm not trying to solicit more stuff for her Just different stuff from the people who already were going to send something), please could you make it a wooden toy. Or a cloth doll? Something out of fabric is great. Clothing, or even dress up stuff is wonderful. Or something made from metal that will last. Things aimed at three to four year olds - you know age appropriate. Puzzles. Music instruments. Books: we don't have any
wizard of oz books yet. We do have a few (beat up, old, from the used book store)
little house books, but I'm not sure which ones since we haven't started reading them yet.
Logan and I will be weeding through her toys to get rid of as much of the plastic and disposable stuff as possible this month. She likes to build things, so I'm going to see about getting her some wooden Lincoln logs (do they still come in wood?), and some more blocks. So I'm going to set up links to toy stores that carry some of the old style toys made from wood, dolls from cloth etc. Yes they cost more. They also last more, and stand up more. And are less likely to be put in the thrift store donation pile.
We found some durable cloth dolls at Holiday Market last week that come with clothing and diapers (cloth with covers) and or undies. We'll probably spend some more time playing at that booth, and Logan will probably end up with something from them as a holiday gift. I want some of the dolls! The shop is called The Dolly Mama.
Rosie Hippo Toys beautiful
Wood toys and imagination stimulators.
Uncle Goose Toys Blocks and puzzles!
The Elephant's Trunk, cool toys in EugeneFAO Schwarz toys for three year old kids, but lots o plastic stuff.
You'll still have to use your discretion. These catalogs may carry junk as well as good stuff. They may carry over priced things. Hell, they probably carry overpriced junk. Buyer beware.
In related news, FAO is looking at bankruptcy again, people are spending their money on *mart toys rather than the old classics. You can probably find more info on it from NPR or with a web search. I heard it on the radio this morning.
I listened to someone else's grand parent tell me how a friends child was getting "all this great stuff" that she found second hand, because her own grandchild's parents were too snobby to let the child have the (trademarked, name brand, plastic junk) she found. So does that make me and John snobs? Maybe. I don't know. But we're raising a pretty cool kid, and we're trying to keep it that way.
If you don't want to shop then don't bother. If you want to shop but don't want to wrap or ship, you can mail order and have them do it for you. If you choose to send Logan money, for whatever reason, it will end up in her saving's account. She knows where her gifts come from, and can tell any one who asks which Grandma made what, or what Aunty Cheryl gave her when she visited. If you don't want to shop for me or John, fine. We'll survive. But if you want to send Logan something, please actually send something, so she can enjoy it.

[Thu 19:40] Auntie Cheryl ~
I recognize stuff in all the photos. Wondering now how snowed in you are, if at all, now it's mid-January.
Will also announce with pride that I have an 8-by-16-foot space almost completely cleared of stuff in my house, so if you visit within the next two weeks, you'll have a place to stand. :)
